The Former Kimberley Brewery takes on new life!

The extensive early construction works at The Brewery Yard, have resulted in great change at the former Hardy & Hanson site. After taking ownership of the complete site, which was on the verge of dereliction, in January 2019, the first home buyers are expected the receive the keys to their new homes in the coming months.

Our Sales & Marketing Manager, Vanessa Gregory is extremely keen to express how combination of stylish new build Mews houses, alongside homes within the former listed buildings of the original brewery will provide a truly beautiful place to live.

“It has always been at the forefront of our conscience that the former Kimberley Brewery holds a special place in the hearts & minds of the local community, because of this we have worked hard to design homes, repurposed from the Kilns, Stores & Maltings buildings. Bringing new life to the area and offering a range of homes for both local people and those new to the area.”

Late last year, we also successfully secured full planning consent for the remainder of the brewery land, at Nine Corners on Eastwood Road. The construction of new build homes, from 3 bedroom town houses to larger 4 bedroom detached homes will start in the late Spring, with a show home expected to be opening in September 2020.

The opportunities that the Brewery Yard development has bought to the local community are many, we employ local subcontractors and have an ongoing recruitment campaign offering real apprenticeships and training for local young people. So far, since September 2017 we have recruited 11 craft & trade apprentices including brick layers, joiners and cabinet makers, 2 of which have now completed their apprenticeships and are employed by us in full time, permanent jobs.

We have also successfully recruited a further 3 office-based apprentices, 2 of whom are working towards degrees. We are committed to improving the lives and futures of young people and to promoting the benefits of a career in construction.
