SOLAR WATER HEATING

Solar water heating is starting to become cost effective and is relatively easily installed both in new homes and as a retro fit in existing houses.  Panels on the roof transmit heat gained from the daylight to a seperat coil in you water cylinder providing free hot water for most of the year.  As a fall back the normal domestic heating system will heat the water if there isnt enough heat from the solar panels.

Solar water heating can be used in conjunction with a heat pump for even more energy efficiency.
