Fairgrove announces Sub-contractor of the year finalists
East Midlands, [28 February 06] It has been a busy year for Ilkeston-based new homes developer Fairgrove Homes. Over the past 12 months, the company has celebrated its 10th anniversary, increased its output of new homes in the region and donated even more money to charity.
“We couldn’t have achieved so much over the last year without the enormous level of support and dedication from our sub-contractors,” says Steve Midgley, managing director, Fairgrove Homes. “As a thank you to all our suppliers, we are once again organising a Sportsman’s Evening, where the second Fairgrove Subcontractor of the Year will be announced.”
Every month for the past year, Fairgrove has given each of its suppliers marks for reliability, communication, quality of goods and service, as well as quality of administration. “This year there are less than five percentage points between the top five suppliers, who have consistently scored high marks throughout the year,” says Steve. “While some other suppliers have peaked in individual months, these have maintained their standards throughout the year. A year ago, while struggling with different suppliers, we would not have believed that it was possible for complicated trades such as plumbers and electricians to score so highly, but we have been proved wrong.”
This year’s finalists are: Leicestershire-based A M Norris Ltd, Notts-based Bracknell Roofing Co Ltd, Notts-based Newport Decorators, Burton-based R & T Plumbing & Heating and Notts-based Trentham Holdings.
During the evening – scheduled for March 9 2006 – guests will be treated to a substantial three-course dinner as well as an after-dinner speech by Dickie Bird, the former international cricket umpire.
