Full marks for Kirkby firm

Kirkby firm Newport Decorators has won a major award from local developer Fairgrove Homes in recognition of its commitment to high quality service.

Former England goalkeeper, Peter Shilton, presented the award for Fairgrove Supplier of the Year at the Sportsman’s Dinner at Pride Park on 17 March 2005.

“We pride ourselves on the quality of our new home developments – from design through construction to finishing,” says Steve Midgley, managing director, Fairgrove Homes. “Essentially, it’s a team effort and we rely on the commitment, enthusiasm and attention to detail of all our suppliers to ensure we give our customers exactly what they want. This award is a symbol of our appreciation for all their work.”

Fairgrove’s site managers and head office review all suppliers and sub-contractors each month by looking at their quality of service, communication, reliability and paperwork. Based on these assessments, the Supplier of the Year is judged to be the organisation or person who has consistently performed well throughout the year. “Competition was tough this year,” says Steve. “We’ve been involved in many developments throughout the East Midlands, so we’ve relied on the skills of a broad variety of suppliers in the region. Newport Decorators demonstrated a high level of commitment and skill – and we’re happy to present them with this award.”

During the financial year 2004/2005, Newport Decorators was involved in providing the finishing touches to Fairgrove’s developments in Sutton Bonington, Nottinghamshire, Shipley Park, Derbyshire, and Olders Valley, Woodville, as well as the award-winning development at Dobson’s Mill, Sutton in Ashfield. It doesn’t stop there: Fairgrove is so pleased with the work of Newport Decorators that it has already contracted the company to provide decorating for its Mansfield and Bulwell developments in Nottinghamshire.
