Amber Valley councillors say ‘yes’ to more new homes
18th May 2004
Amber Valley Borough Council has given the green light for a new development of houses in the Derbyshire town of Loscoe. The decision to grant planning permission to Ilkeston-based Fairgrove Homes will provide the town with seven new-build homes on a part brown-field site.
The development, on a 0.6-acre site at Lake Gardens, Lake Avenue, Loscoe, will feature four-bedroom houses with the latest kitchen and bathroom designs.
“With property prices continuing to rise throughout the East Midlands, we see our latest development as a good location for investing in a new home,” says Steve Midgley, Managing Director of Fairgrove Homes. “People living in the Loscoe area have not had an opportunity to buy a new house lately and we feel that we are helping add choice to the home buyer market in the area. Loscoe is quite prominent, but is possibly a forgotten location being between Heanor and Ripley. The council’s decision to rubber stamp our plans should help to firmly re-establish Loscoe on the house buyers’ map.”
Work begins on the site in June and the houses are set to be available for new owners at the beginning of next year.
