First year celebrations for Ilkeston firm

2nd February 2004

One year after moving into new premises in Ilkeston, Derbyshire-based property development company Fairgrove Homes is riding a tide of good fortune. With more space available for administration, training and meetings, the company now employs a greater number of people than it did at the beginning of 2003.

Coinciding with the surge in staff numbers, the company has established a good bank of both green and brown-field land. “The mood a year ago was to facilitate our ability to expand the business,” comments Steve Midgley, Managing Director of Fairgrove Homes. “This year, we hope to build on our achievements and increase our sales value by over 100%. This is being achieved by building more units, which are being marketed at a higher value to the luxury end of the market.”

Following the first anniversary celebrations at its headquarters on 1 February 2004, Fairgrove Homes is looking forward to a future where training can be handled in specially designed training rooms at the company’s offices. “We’ve already benefited by improved communication throughout the business,” says Steve. “The open-plan layout of our offices has helped us to grow as a team and improve dialogue amongst staff. We’ve got an exciting year ahead, and with the staff and offices established, we’re looking forward to a profitable year.”
