East Midlands, [07 February 2008] Maintaining its tradition for promoting excellence among its staff and suppliers, Ilkeston-based Fairgrove Homes is gearing up for its annual supplier of the year awards, which will be held at Derby Conference Centre Club on 28 February.
During the evening, guests will be treated to a three-course meal and after- dinner speaking from Mark Eccleston, the tetraplegic athlete who has captained Great Britain in two world championships and the 1996 paralympic games.
Over the course of the year, all the firm’s suppliers have been assessed and graded on the services they provide, with Fairgrove giving each of them marks for reliability, communication, quality of goods, service, evidence of exceeding expectations, as well as quality of administration. This year, the awards feature categories for sub-contractors, suppliers, labour and professional advisors.
In the sub-contractors’ category, the finalists are Eagle Security Systems, Munster Joinery (UK), Newport Decorators, Trentham Holdings (Electrical Contractors) and Versatile Ceramics. The suppliers’ category finalists are CPI Mortars, Orion Trent (Insulation) and Soar Valley Timber. The line-up in the labour category is Rick Gadsby (Brickworks), Jeffery Smith (Joinery) and Graham Smith (Joinery). Finalists in the professional advisor category are Hudson Health & Safety Services, MW Caddy (Architecture) and Ubiquitous Media.
“Yet again, it has been a tough decision-making process,” says Steve Midgley, managing director of Fairgrove Homes. “We feel fortunate to work with some of the best and most committed people in their industries, and we believe this is reflected in the high quality homes that we are able to build and sell as a result. It really has been a year of sterling effort by so many suppliers, ensuring that Fairgrove’s name and high-quality developments are remembered throughout the East Midlands.”
